The Garden of Dream

A very interesting juxtaposition of old and new here.  In Chinese classical gardens (presumably also Japanese gardens?), there is the concept of "borrowed view" that I recently learned about.  The idea is to let scenes from a nearby courtyard leak into another courtyard, by means of intricate windows or other framing devices.  In Portland, Oregon, the tall pink glass office building a few blocks away from the Lan Su Yuan looms overhead, providing a modern contrast to the Ming-style beauty of the garden below.  The old and the new.  Taken in this context, your idea for this painting seems very inspired.
